Hello Everyone!

Feather is back with another hymn arrangement! This one is called “Be Still for the Presence of the Lord”.

I was inspired to compose for this hymn because of my trip to Croatia. During my time there, we went to a place called Medjugorje. It is said that the Virgin Mary appeared to six teenagers, while they were on a hillside near their homes. Although the Catholic church doesn’t see it as an official vision, my family and I decided to visit, to pay our respects.

Now I had been planning to arrange a hymn for a while, but I could never find the opportunity, nor the right hymn…until now. After my visit, I reminisced about all the sights I’d been too where the Virgin Mary was said to have visited: Lourdes, Fatima…

I found that every time I go to a “Holy spot” as I’d like to call them, I always find an immense sense of peace, calm and tranquillity, and it really feels like the Lord is there, with me and everyone else, who wish to feel closer to him. It’s like the veil between heaven and earth has thinned and we can almost physically feel him near us.

That was when I found my inspiration, thus this “episode” of Feather’s Music is the hymn arrangement for “Be Still for the Presence of the Lord”. I think in times when we feel alone, just sit still and tune in to your surroundings, perhaps you might find God in those moments.

So without further ado, here is “Be Still for the Presence of the Lord”.

Be Still For The Presence Of The Lord

Lyrics by David Evans

Be still for the presence of the Lord

The Holy One is here

Come bow before him now

With reverence and fear

In Him no sin is found

We stand on Holy ground

Be still for the presence of the Lord

The Holy One is here

V

Be still for the glory of the Lord

Is shining all around

He burns with Holy Fire

With splendour he is crowned

How awesome is the sight

Our radiant King of Light

Be still for the glory of the Lord

Is shining all around

V

Be still for the power of the Lord

Is moving in this place

He comes to cleanse and heal

To minister his grace

No work too hard for Him

In faith receive in Him

Be still for the power of the Lord

Is moving in this place

So what do you think? Let me know in the comments below, and I’ll see you next week with another arrangement.
