Feather’s Day Trips: Episode 4 – Asian Roots

Hello Everyone!

Here’s another first for the year, and today, I’ll be talking about the “recent” trip I had to a nice little Asian fusion restaurant, called Hare and Tortoise. Ok, so it wasn’t a recent trip, it was before Christmas, but because I took a little break beforehand, I couldn’t upload it last year. So it was delayed for this week.

Anyway, what is Hare and Tortoise? As I mentioned before, it is an Asian fusion restaurant, combining cuisines from all over south-east Asia to create these delicious concoctions. If you’d like to take a look at their menu, here’s their very handy website!

Hare and Tortoise

It’s loaded with tasty treats, and if you’re a sushi lover, there’s a whole section dedicated just for you! They have a range of other dishes, like stir fry to soup, to even curries. It’s definitely worth a go, if you’re an adventurous eater, that is.

The Experience

Ok, so I haven’t got much else to say about the restaurant. The fact of the matter is that I went with all my cousins (and my sister), for one last hurrah for 2016. What with changes coming around in 2017, there is a chance we won’t be able to meet up much, so we had to have one last big shake up, before we got down to business.

However, in terms of the food, I had the fried dumplings, the ramen noodles and a very tasty raspberry mousse for dessert, and I have to be honest here, I wanted more. The noodles were fantastic, the dessert was divine, and the dumplings…well, let’s just say they were a little bit too much on the crunchy side. Other than that, I might decide to return to have a taste of the rest of the menu. I know I had a little bit of the sushi, and it was absolutely delicious, but I think I’d like to try out the curry one of these days.

(I forgot to take a picture of the mousse…whoops!)

If you’re ever near a Hare and Tortoise restaurant, do check it out. It’s classy and modern, literally fusion, and you’d be pretty surprised by what they have on offer. I’m no food expert, but I’m definitely coming back when I have the money (their largest sushi platter was on the dear side).

So, that’s it for now! It’s your turn. Have you ever been to Hare and Tortoise? What was your favourite dish? Did you like the food? Let us know in the comments below. Don’t forget to like and subscribe to this blog for more content! See you guys soon!
