Feather’s Reviews: Expression Filled Beauty

Hello Everyone!

Yes, it’s another deviation from the films I said I’d try to watch, but I have to write about this new make-up palette I’ve found. It’s from the brand Too Faced and, after seeing one of my favourite beauty bloggers mention it in a vlog, I had to try it for myself. The palette I’m talking about (if you haven’t already guessed) is the…

Peach Palette

Now, the reason I’m reviewing this palette is simple. It’s made me realise how much I’ve missed wearing make-up! What with my job as a supervisor, in a store, in an area that doesn’t really care (trust me, it’s a rather uninspiring place to go to), make-up just doesn’t seem to want to manifest itself onto my face. It’s because the people I have to deal with (yes, HAVE to deal with) are less interested in how the store, and I look, and are more interested in whether or not they can get a discount on an item that cannot be discounted. So, you see, there’s just no point.

However, there are a few occasions where I do feel like prettying myself up, and this palette is the perfect companion to those times. While, yes, I still have the Naked Palette from Urban Decay (actually I have two now!) the Peach Palette just seems much more appropriate to the activities I do throughout the day. So, if you want to know what I think about this palette, keep reading!

By the way, I’m not being endorsed by Too Faced, I just really love the palette!

Perfect Colours

I kid you not, when I first tried the Peach Palette, I was nervous. I wasn’t sure if it was going to look good with my skin tone, and if it would stay on my face when I move around, a lot. Luckily my worries were abated. The first time I tried the palette’s colours, not only were they perfectly pigmented, they stayed on my face for a good couple of hours, even if my face started to become oily, with sweat!

I don’t have a picture of that time, but when I got home, after a day’s full of shopping, my eyes were still (and I really don’t use this phrase often) ON FLEEK! I think I’m going to have to swear by this palette, because it’s just so perfect! Plus, it smells like peaches!

There are 18 colours altogether, in the palette, so you’re pretty much spoilt for choice. In fact, there are so many options you could do with this palette. You could go for a cat eye, smoky eye, natural, even some creative ones that you’d only find on the internet, or in performances that require such extravagant colours. It’s just enough colour to get you through the day.

My Go-To

So, with me, there is a set pattern to how I do my eyeshadow. I have hooded lids, so any colours I put on will be eventually smudged over by my eyeliner, but for the few hours that remain un-smudged, the colours are perfectly clear. If you take a look at the picture below, you’ll see what I mean. Now, I use a total of three colours from the palette.

The main colour I use is the Nectar, or the Luscious, shade. I usually use a cut-crease style, to distinguish the shape of my lids. The second colour I use is either the Cobbler or the Caramelized shade. This helps with defining my eye sockets, because that’s what the darker shades are meant to do. It defines the shape of your eyelid, and accentuates the orbital bone. After that, I use the peach pit, or delectable, to add colour to the crease, and to the corner of my eye.

These are great combos for my everyday look, only because it’s been a while, and I haven’t actually become creative with the colours yet. However, once I do get the hang of things, I’ll probably play around a little more. There are just too many options that I’ve yet to try, and I can’t wait!

Magnets and Slippery Fingers

When I first opened the palette, I was rather nervous. After all, I’m used to the drugstore kind, and the Naked Palettes have their own brushes inside, so I thought I’d have to use my nails to open it. It turns out, I didn’t, and I ended up breaking off a piece of the Caramelized shade because I was careless.

The magnet isn’t too powerful that you can’t open it, but if you’re not careful, you can ruin the shades, with your finger or nail. So, make sure you handle it with care. If I had known how the palette opens up, I would have held it at an angle, so I wouldn’t have ruined my palette. Well, maybe next time.

Potential Options

Yes, I do love this palette, and I can’t wait to discover more Too Faced products. Once I get my pay check this month I’m definitely investing in more make-up, especially from the Too Faced brand. Having briefly taken a look at their range of products, I’d say it’d be rather interesting to experience them. If their palette is anything to go by, my guess is their products wouldn’t be too cakey. Here’s hoping!

Well, that’s it from me today, it’s time for us to listen to you guys! Have you ever tried a Too Faced product? What did you think of it? How does it feel on your skin? What do you think about the Peach Palette? Leave your tips in the jar below, and we’ll see you next time!
