Feather’s Fashion: Ritualistic Relaxation

Hello Everyone!

I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while now. For about three years (I think it’s been three years…), I’ve been using products from a brand that’s pretty good at making you feel like you’re at a spa. Ever since I stumbled across one of their stores at Westfield, I’ve been going back to them, every time I run out. The brand is called (if you’ve already guessed, good!)…

I first tried out one of their body scrubs, because I needed something that would help me feel cleaner, since just a regular flannel and body wash wasn’t doing it for me anymore. So, I hesitantly stepped into one of these stores and began trying out their products, and I’ve never looked back. From my experience, I’ll be sharing with you guys, my top five products from Rituals!

Let’s get to it then!

1. The Ritual of Hammam – Hot Scrub

This was the very first body scrub I ever bought from Rituals, and I absolutely loved it! I’ve only bought it a couple of times, because the grains were rather big, so it was more of a once a week sort of thing (I was looking for something that I could use nearly every day, because I’m a rather active person). However, now that my activities seem to be slowing down, I’ll definitely be buying this again.

It’s a warming scrub, and when I say warming, I mean the instant you put it on, it literally heats your skin, just like a hot water bottle does. Infused with rich Mediterranean Sea Salt, Eucalyptus, and Ginger, this scrub is perfect for winter, or after a long day. It truly relaxes you.

2. The Ritual of Dao – Body Cream

This is one smooth body cream. In fact, it’s so light and fluffy, it almost feels like whipped cream! When I bought this product, I was sure I was going to use it up, before the month was through, but with its light texture, I ended up using it for nearly two months! It’s a great product if you just feel like your skin is that dry. I know I’m going to buy this cream as soon as I’ve finished using up all my other ones.

The fragrance is just divine, it reminds me of a flower garden. Mixed with White Lotus and Yi Yi Ren, a herb used in Chinese medicine, the cream has nourishing properties that will leave your body feeling smooth as silk.

3. The Ritual of Ayurveda – Fragrance Sticks

Moving away from body stuff, because there are more aspects to relaxation than showering and bathing, I want to share with you a great scent for your room. This one is one of the first I used, when I was certain I could try it in such a small space. You see, my room is rather small, and full of clutter, so I can’t use a candle or incense sticks (the ones you burn), in order to chase away the odours of the bathroom (which happen to be right next to my room). Instead, I decided to use these fragrance sticks, and they are a dream!

The Rose and Sweet Almond Oil permeates the air with their fragrant scents and you’re taken away to a distant land. These scents remind me of a hot summer in the garden, and I absolutely adore the rose (it’s my favourite!). If you’re into the flowery scents, I highly suggest these sticks.

4. The Ritual of Dao – Fragrance Sticks

Basically anything Dao is amazing, especially if you’re like me and love the scent of fresh…anything. I don’t know what it is but I just love scents that remind me of fresh sheets, or fresh clothes. Even the smell you get after a spring rain, or the morning breeze! That’s why my staple fragrance sticks are in the Ritual of Dao collection. It chases the stink of cooking or the bathroom (after someone’s used it) and just relaxes me, whenever I’m feeling stressed.

If you’re like me and like fresh scents, then definitely get these sticks. Once again, they use the White Lotus and Yi Yi Ren fragrances. When it’s winter this is the best fragrance to have. You’ll feel nice and cozy just as you’re about to fall asleep! I suggest also getting the bed and body mist to compliment the scent, you’ll drift off in a cloud of cotton.

5. The Ritual of the Laughing Buddha – Fortune Body Scrub

Yes we’re back to a scrub, just because I didn’t want to overdo this list with the Ritual of Dao (since that’s my favourite collection so far). This scrub is amazing. You can use it for your everyday use, plus it’s in a squeeze-y bottle, so you don’t have to scoop it out of a pot! I loved using this scrub, when I had it. The citrus scents really invigorated me. I felt really cleansed off the day. Plus, it becomes an exfoliating cream when you use it!

Enriched with Sweet Orange and Cedar Wood, you can see why it invigorates. Citrus fruits are known for their healing properties, and there’s no doubt this scrub will make you feel much more alive, after you use it. I suggest buying this scrub if you’re a morning shower person (I’m more of an evening one). Not only will you feel clean, you’ll feel like you’re ready to tackle the day, no matter what it may bring.

Of course, I still have more products to try, so look out for a part 2 of this list…and maybe a part 3 and 4…but that’s it from me, today. It’s your turn now. Let us know if you’ve tried out any of the Rituals collections. Which one is your favourite? What products would you recommend? Leave your tips in the jar below, and we’ll see you soon!
