Feather’s Reviews: Pigmented Palettes

Hello Everyone!

This is my penultimate review of the year, before 2017 starts! Can you believe it? I sure can’t. Well, we still have enough time to reminisce, so for now, let’s talk beauty. Now, I’m not one to keep up with the newest make-up trend, but I do know one thing, I have been craving for a Naked palette by Urban Decay for a very long time. So, when I had the chance to buy one recently, I wasted no effort in trying out the different eye shadows. What was my reaction? Keep on reading.

The Purchase

As you all know, I recently went on a “coffee spree” with an old friend of mine, and bumped into a small shop (a stall really) for the highly hyped brand, where I finally got my Naked 3 palette, for £38.50! To tell you the truth, I can’t explain how badly I wanted to fangirl, right there, right then.

From Bubz Beauty to Michelle Phan, I know most beauty gurus have had a Naked palette, at one point or another, and I really, really wanted my palette. So, you can guess how excited I was when I got it! I couldn’t stop looking at it, for the rest of the day. I had to be sure it was really in my possession.

Swatch Time!

As most beauty gurus and make-up artists do, here are the swatches for the palette.

From the lower end of my arm to the top, we have

1.          Strange

2.          Dust

3.          Burnout

4.         Limit

5.          Buzz

6.         Trick

7.          Nooner

8.         Liar

9.         Factory

10.    Mugshot

11.     Darkside

12.     Darkheart

For someone like me, who has darker skin, than most of the beauty gurus out there, and who just wants to make her eyes look a little more defined, this is probably a great palette. Not only does it have the neutral tones you need, for a pick-me-up look, but it also has the glamorous shimmer shadows for those extra special occasions (where you don’t want to look natural at all).

The Nervous First Time

Since I’ve dreamed about this day, I was super nervous when I opened the palette. I didn’t want to touch it, but at the same time I wanted to use the shadows so bad, but you have to start somewhere, right?

When I got the shadow onto my eyes, I was amazed! I didn’t have to apply too much product, to get it to show up! Plus, I didn’t even feel it on my lids at all! Unlike the drugstore brands I’m used to, it felt as if I wasn’t wearing any eyeshadow at all! In fact, once or twice during the day, I almost rubbed my eye, because it felt like I wasn’t wearing any makeup.

It was like a dream, wearing the eyeshadow, and if I had the right eyeliner and eyeshadow, I probably would have thought I wasn’t wearing makeup at all!  So, for those of you still on the fence about buying the brand, I say go for it! It’s worth the go, plus, you’ll look fabulous once you try it.

Well, that’s it from me today, join me next week, in my final review of the year. I’m sure you’ll love it. Believe me, if you’re a classic geek like me, and fan girl over long deceased characters, then the phrase “these are not the droids you’re looking for” should not come as a surprise to you. That’s right, for my final review of the year, I will be looking at the film from a galaxy far, far away:

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
